New Zealand study published in the British Journal of Psychology reports eating certain foods could elevate your mood. Study found that participants were happier, calmer and had greater energy on days they ate fruits and veggies.

For 21 straight days, the researchers from the University of Otago, had 281 participants, young with a mean average age of 19.9 years, keep a daily diary of their positive and negative feelings and of their consumption of 5 specific foods.

Dr Tamlin Conner, lead researcher, said fruits and vegetable consumption had results that suggest they are not just good for overall health, but good for day to day health, in particular day to day mental health.
