FAB Research is delighted to announce that some of the most highly-regarded researchers in this field will be gathering in Oxford in September to attend this multi-disciplinary workshop; making this an exceptional opportunity to share in the latest developments in this rapidly expanding area of study. The workshop will bring together research scientists from a wide range of different disciplines, and is also open to professionals and others with relevant experience.

The first such Research Workshop was held in Inverness in 1999, followed by a second Workshop, in Oxford in 2001 (FAND 2001) which was sponsored by The Dyslexia Research Trust. (More information and an overview of FAND 2001 here).

The 2009 Programme will include coverage of Genetic, Biochemical, Neurophysiological and Psychological Factors in Neurodevelopmental and Psychiatric Disorders; Techniques for the Investigation of Fatty Acid Status and Metabolism; and the role of Nutrition and Diet in relation to Neurodevelopmental and Psychiatric Disorders. (The 2009 Programme can be viewed and downloaded in PDF format here FAND 2009 Programme).

Keynote contributors confirmed to date include:

The day will be made up of brief oral presentations organised in discrete themed sessions, each followed by open panel discussion to give all participants the opportunity for questions and discussion.

In addition, there will be an exhibition of poster abstracts after lunch, which will also be available for viewing during refreshment breaks and at the informal drinks reception in Magdalen College the preceding evening, Wednesday 23rd September, to which all delegates are welcome. Please follow this link if you would like to present your own work as a poster at this meeting Submission of Poster Abstracts for the FAND 2009 Research Workshop.
