Feeding Kids, the Netmums Cookery book
...doing exactly what it says on the tin!
Home cooking is important in so many ways and yet, for so many reasons, it can be the thing that slips close to the bottom of our long list of daily chores. And yet it is something that has to be done 3 times a day, seven days a week, all year round. But does cooking have to be a chore? It shouldn't be and doesn't need to be. A few ideas and a bit of planning can make all the difference.
This book has so many answers and solutions - not because we say so, but because you say so. You know how everyone has a favourite fall back recipe: the cooking equivalent of your favourite little black dress... the one thing that you know you can cook quickly and easily, that never lets you down and that everyone likes? This book has a selection of over 120 of the best of our members favourite fall-back recipes.
And more...
It also contains variations on every recipe so that you can substitute ingredients for the ones you and your family like best and the ones you happen to have in the fridge today. Nothing is set in stone and everything is flexible depending on the time of year, amount of time you have, what's in your cupboards and what phase your fussy eater is going through.
We believe the key to success in feeding kids lies in finding easy recipes and making a series of gradual changes, rather than trying to change everything all at once.
And it isn't all about denial: we don't want to denying your kids the foods they love: this book offers easy, quick recipes for home made chicken nuggets, burgers, fish fingers along with classics such as fish cakes, shepherd's pie and simple casseroles. A good diet is as much about what you add in as what you leave out.
Who wrote this book?
This book started as a compilation of our members' favourite recipes so, in many ways, it's been written by you. This is why we know that a) mums will love these recipes and b) that the kids will love them too - they've been well road-tested in real life.
When we decided to put them into a book, we brought in the top nutrition expert and author Judith Wills (Judith has sold more than 2 million food books worldwide including The Food Bible, The Diet Bible, The Children's Food Bible, Top 200 Low Fat Recipes and several other cookbooks). Judith checked all the recipes, added lots of her own along with hundreds of variations.
The rest of the book offers 120 recipes to help you put tasty and healthy meals on the table every day, 365 days a year.
This book will help your child enjoy good food. By that we mean food that is of good quality, tastes good and does them good too.
