This conference is primarily aimed at members of the food industry. It will demonstrate why manufacturers need to consider the ageing population, looking at what influences the older consumer and the types of products and ingredients that need to be developed to improve their health and wellbeing.

Dr Alexandra Richardson of the University of Oxford will be speaking on
Opportunities for Improving Mental and Cognitive Health

Cognitive dysfunction is a major component of age-related deterioration. Achieving and maintaining optimal brain health, as well as preventing and supporting debilitating diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, has become an important health issue with the ageing population. This presentation will investigate current and potential brain health ingredients that may be targeted at the elderly for the alleviation of age-related symptoms.
